Club Fees Update
Dear Club Member,
While we did not make any changes to fees in 2024, this year you will notice that your invoice reflects an increase in membership rates as well as a change in how other fees and discounts are applied. Here’s the scoop…

Fee Changes
Club Membership Fees for 2025 are increasing by 6% and will be inclusive of the Volunteer Deposit going forward. (Until now, the Volunteer Deposit has always been managed as a separate fee.)
-
the previous “core” membership fee changes from $680 to $720
-
the “volunteer deposit” changes from $330 to $350 and credit for each volunteer hour worked in 2025 (and going forward) will increase from $33 to $35 dollars to a maximum of 10 hours per family
-
the total “blended” Club Membership fee is now $1070.
The "Extended Family" Membership, which covers one extended family unit of a Member at an off-island address OR a Member family's separated or divorced parent and their family living at an on-island address is increasing from $155 to $195. This fee has not seen an increase since 2021.

For Silver Circle (10+ years) Members, a 15% discount will apply to the blended Membership Fee. This is a change from a 20% discount that applied only to the core membership fee and not the Volunteer Deposit. Silver Circle Members will see an increase in savings of $15 on this year’s invoice and continued savings going forward.

Golden Circle (25+ years) Members will now receive a 50% discount which will apply to the blended Membership Fee. In the past, Gold Members received a 20% discount on core fees and 100% discount on the Volunteer Deposit. This means an increased savings of $40 on this year’s invoice and continued savings going forward.

Angel Members continue to receive a 100% discount on all Club Membership Fees until 2033 with the exception of any Extended Family Memberships they may have.
Why all these changes?
Operating and maintenance costs continue to be of concern as our facilities age and the prices of goods and services rise year over year. This year saw the lower deck fail and trees fall onto our phone/internet line and cottage. We want to keep abreast of things by initiating more planned maintenance rather than simply fixing things when they break.

Simplifying our accounting processes has become more important for a number of reasons:
-
The number of Club and Courts Memberships at the TBCA as well as the volume of members joining and leaving each year have increased significantly over the past 5 years. While numbers seem to be leveling off, membership size, “churn” and effort to manage accounts are all much greater than they have ever been in the past
-
Our accounting software is now integrated with the new membership/website platform. Simplifying fee structures helps us more easily manage technical integrations as well as offer online payment options.

What was that about online payments?
Our invoicing process has been based on electronic invoices and e-transfers for some years now due to the high costs associated with accepting credit card payments. Since going live with our new membership/website platform, we now have access to an electronic payment system with a low 3% service fee and we are introducing the following:
-
Tunstall Bay online shop - If you are ok with a 3% fee, you can skip the cheque or etransfer process and pay your 2025 invoice online by credit card or Google Pay
-
Late payments - Any payments for annual membership dues that are not received by February 28, 2025 will need to be paid at the Tunstall Bay online store with the 3% service fee included
-
Other products coming soon: Additional fobs can also be purchased at the online store and, coming soon, members will be able to request and pay for facility rentals online rather than by email and e-transfer.
