This Saturday, May 17 is the official opening day of the Tunstall Bay Pool and we want to share some news about what the season will bring.

Tweaks to the Booking System
This year, based on the suggestions from the membership, the booking system will include more options for reserving the Pool, Deck Tables and Courts. This means:
You can choose from a variety of time durations and there will be more options for start and end times to suit your family's schedule.
The booking engine is responsible for maximizing the use of our resources (like a hairdresser trying to avoid unusable short breaks throughout the day) and so available times will dynamically change as bookings are made.
Each family group needs to manage their own "in and out" times in order to make space for the next family/families arriving.
We hope (fingers crossed!) that these tweaks will enable the more effective use of our facilities, but we are also aware that making things more flexible may lead to some unexpected outcomes. We will be closely monitoring and making adjustments, if needed, throughout the summer.
Support your fellow members, make a reservation!
Reservations help to manage and gain visibility into the actual use of Tunstall Bay facilities - but this only really works if we are all in on the process. Please support your fellow members by taking the time and reserving your time at pool, decks and courts in advance. If you couldn't or didn't, you can still make a reservation by accessing the system with your cellphone once you've arrived, and you can still help the next person know what is available to them, or not.
You will need your email and password to login, but you can make a booking now.
Unsure about booking policies? Read about them here.
If you need any support in learning how to make reservations or see something in the system that doesn't seem quite right, please reach out!
New Seniors Swim times
As of May 20 and throughout the summer, you may see some new faces at the pool. The TBCA has partnered with Bowen Island "Seniors Keeping Young" (SKY) to promote seniors' health by reserving some special time in the pool for TBCA and SKY members who are 55 years and older.
These Senior Swim times are listed both in the online Pool Schedule as well as the Booking System. If you're 55+ and a TBCA or SKY member, these times are for you!
